Belfast City Hall
This historic building was completed in 1906 after eight years of constructing this beautiful building. The exterior is primarily built using portland stone, making the design an astonishing sight for visitors.
The interior isn't much different with it's character - A grand entrance, grand staircase and great hall are all contained inside.
The building has been through a fair passage of hostory with it being bombed in the Belfast Blitz, soon to be rebuilt. There are numerous murals dedicated to individuals located around the acre and a half site, such as Sir Edward Harland - former head of Harland and Wolff where the famous Titanic ship was built, along with Queen Victoria.
What was named the Belfast wheel was erect to
the left of the city hall for a period of two and a half years - From November 2007 to April 2010. It was removed due to a number of factors: One being it was covering the Titanic memorial located right under where the ferris wheel was positioned.
The city hall offers tours around its buildings which finished refurbishment in October 2009. There is an annual continential market that visits the grounds of the city hall traditionally a few weeks in the run up to Christmas. There is often a number of other events taking place in the city hall throughout the year.

On a gorgeous Spring or Summers day - the front lawn would be packed with people sunbathing and making the most out of the outstanding weather Belfast receives (on occasion!).
