Even by just driving through the streets of Belfast, It is clear to everyone that Belfast has a lot of History uncovered. The architecture of the city ranges from Edwardian buildings to brand new state of the art, modern buildings. Places like the City Hall, Queens University, Belfast Castle, Ulster Hall and The Opera House all were elegantly designed to catch the eye. The Cathedral Quarter lies hold to cobbled streets surrounded by ancient buildings, this particular area is often where history really comes alive. The Cathedral Quarter area is now under going a massive redevelopment, as their is a lot of potential for it to become an even bigger cultural and tourist landmark.

Belfast's biggest and probably most recognsised landmark is the two cranes, H&W, Samson and Goliath. At one stage, mainly during the wars, back in the early twentieth century, This was a prime location to dispose of. This shipyard was once one of the world's busiest and is most famous for building the Titanic.

The Europa Hotel, which is located on Great Victoria Street, has a reputation for being one of the most bombed hotels in Europe. It was bombed twenty seven times in total. Although your safe now! Just across the road is the Crown Bar which is the only pub to be owned by the National Trust. It also is know for being one of the oldest bars in Belfast.

The troubles that occurred in Northern Ireland are probably what made Belfast history so famous. 1966 started what lasted for decades. Many innocent lives were lost in a civil war based on division and religion. The signs of the troubles still remain today, which make it so interesting for people to come to the city and still see everything for themselves. Murals are posted on the side of homes, as seen below. Peace walls divide communities. Memorials lay, of the people that were lost in these events.
