The Linen Hall Library
Instantly when you walk through the door of this engrossing building, you see the sudden contrast of where old meets new. The architecture of this abstract establishment stands out a mile off. It is the content that lies within the library which is what makes the place so unique.
Located in a prominent area at the corner of Fountain Street, right in the centre of the city. At first glimpse you can see a modern, distinctive building highlighting the heritage that Belfast holds.
So much more than a library! This at one stage was Belfast's only general library. Now a fascinating tourist attraction providing knowledge in so many different aspects including:
Irish & Reference
Genealogy
Burnsiana
NI Political Collection
Theatre archive
NI Publications Resource
The Linen Hall Library also has a general lending section where a number of fiction and non fiction books are available. The number of items contained within the library is unheard of - The NI Political Collection holds 250,000 pieces of information alone.

Along with holding original copies of ancient archived writings, they also offer access to daily newspapers, international magazines and journals, many gifts available to purchase, a coffee shop, internet access, specialist staff with expertise in different areas and a number of other unique collections.
